Our Space
Located in the University of Chicago's John Crerar Library (home of the Computer Science Department and the MADD Center), our lab resides under beautiful skylights.
We have designed our lab space as a new hub for invention, innovation, and curious exploration. Stop by our lab to see our showcased projects on display!

Grounded in the domains of Interaction Design and Human-Computer Interaction, our lab develops and designs the future of user experience through interactive and actuated User Interface technologies. Using actuation (motorization, transformation, and movement), we devise ways to provide a novel user experience design by exploring the question: "How would actuated technologies actuate people?"
Inspired by artists, designers, engineers, and computer scientists, our work spans multiple disciplines, including Interaction Design, Robotics, and Media Arts.
